Senior Sous Chef 

The 4 star AA Accredited Holiday Inn London Gatwick Worth located in Crawley is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Sous Chef to join the senior management team and assist the Head Chef in this busy food & beverage operation. All of our freshly prepared menus are written in house and full input is expected when these are changed seasonally. You will also be expected to have the ability to work in a very fast paced environment without compromising standards.

Our hotel currently has 118 bedrooms, increasing to 158 rooms with extension works currently ongoing. The project also includes a new build state of the art conference facility that will accommodate up to 400 guests for private dining. Our restaurant, bar & reception area will also be extended and refurbished throughout to include a brand-new Restaurant kitchen and Banqueting kitchen with all newly fitted equipment. This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious Chef that would like to be part of a growing company.

As Senior Sous Chef you will support and deputise for the Head Chef, and supervise the brigade. You will play a role in delivering exceptional service and food quality plus consistently assist the Head Chef in all kitchen management duties from HACCP to COSHH, waste management & all health and safety.

As well as being passionate about good food, you will be highly motivated and flexible to suit the hours and needs of the business. Previous experience in a similar kitchen role is essential. Duties & Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role is essential
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum Level 2 food hygiene certificate
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communicational skills
  • Flexible and is able to work up to 40-48 hours per week to include split shifts if and when necessary
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
