Front Of House/Reception Vacancies

The 4 star AA Accredited Holiday Inn London Gatwick Worth located in Crawley is currently recruiting for an experienced Front of House Manager. Our hotel currently has 118 bedrooms, increasing to 158 rooms with extension works commencing September 2018.The project also includes a new build state of the art conference facility that will accommodate up to 400 guests for private dining. Our restaurant, bar & reception area will also be extended and refurbished throughout. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join a growing company.

This is a hands-on Front of House Manager role, in which you must be an organised individual with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and utilise your excellent communication skills to liaise with all departments and senior management. You will also need to be computer literate and have a proven ability to lead, support and motivate a team.

A working knowledge of hotel operating systems is a must and a background of working in busy hotel environments would also be beneficial.

Key activities and responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate the Reception team, their tasks and responsibilities
  • To recruit, train and motivate members of the team to deliver excellent guest service
  • Responsible for Reception and Duty Manager roster
  • Act as Duty Manager when on shift
  • Managing reservations and allocation of bedrooms by liaising with housekeeping and reservations team
  • Support all hotel departments by positively promoting the hotel services including managing restaurant bookings through booking engines
  • Monitor guest accounts to ensure correct billing and payments
  • Maintain guests ledger accounts
  • Maintain & deal with payments – deposits, invoices and banking
  • Assist the Sales Manager with bookings and any other admin tasks for corporate clients
  • Efficient response to all telecommunications, corresponding with online reviews and guests through telephone, emails, letters & faxes
  • To promote revenue awareness and maximise sales and upselling opportunities
  • Ensure all systems, processes and SOP's are up to date and regularly reviewed
  • Actively promote the IHG Rewards Club Scheme to drive loyalty across all IHG Brands
  • Take full ownership in managing IHG Rewards Club Scheme within the hotel to include new enrolments, member recognition, allocating points correctly and acting as Loyalty Champion
  • Support & maintain health, safety & security procedures in the work place
  • Previous knowledge of Fire safety procedures

Night Reception Supervisor

The 4 star AA Accredited Holiday Inn London Gatwick Worth located in Crawley is currently recruiting for an experienced Night Reception Supervisor to provide an efficient reception service, whilst ensuring all guests are dealt with in a hospitable and courteous manner, according to IHG Brand Standards. Our hotel currently has 118 bedrooms, increasing to 158 rooms with extension works commencing September 2018.The project also includes a new build state of the art conference facility that will accommodate up to 400 guests for private dining. Key activities and responsibilities:

  • Manage the hotel overnight in the absence of the Night Manager.
  • Ensure that reception operations run smoothly and effectively according to the IHG Brand Standards on a daily basis
  • To welcome and register guests in a hospitable, friendly and professional manner
  • Ensure the hotel is safe and secure overnight
  • Have an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
  • To answer the telephone promptly and in a polite and efficient manner
  • To assist guests with queries relating to the hotel, local transportation and the local area
  • Upsell hotel saver packages
  • To have full knowledge of Fire and Safety procedures and to be responsible for the evacuation of guests and staff from the hotel in the event of a fire or bomb alert, in accordance with the fire procedures laid down
  • To implement the hotel security policies and procedures and remain vigilant at all times
  • Ensure all guests are charged correctly according to their reservation and charges are posted correctly
  • Check guests in and ensure sufficient credit has been taken to account from their room and any incidentals
  • Check guests out clearing balances and ensuring ledger payments are posted to the correct account numbers
  • Ensure maximum IHG Rewards Club enrolments are achieved
