Full Time Receptionist

The 4 star AA Accredited Holiday Inn London Gatwick Worth located in Crawley is currently recruiting for a full time Receptionist to provide an efficient reception service, whilst ensuring all guests are dealt with in a hospitable and courteous manner, according to IHG Brand Standards. 

Our hotel currently has 118 bedrooms, increasing to 158 rooms with extension works currently ongoing. The project also includes a new build state of the art conference facility that will accommodate up to 400 guests for private dining. Our restaurant, bar & reception area will also be extended and refurbished throughout. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join a growing company.

A working knowledge of hotel operating systems is essential and a background of working in busy hotel environments would also be beneficial.

Duties & Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • To Display a polite and professional attitude to internal and external guests
  • To answer the telephone promptly and in a polite and efficient manner
  • To assist guests with queries relating to the hotel, local transportation and the local area
  • Upsell hotel saver packages
  • To implement the hotel security policies and procedures and remain vigilant at all times
  • Ensure all guests are charged correctly according to their reservation and charges are posted correctly
  • Check guests in and ensure sufficient credit has been taken to account from their room and any incidentals
  • Check guests out clearing balances and ensuring ledger payments are posted to the correct account numbers
  • Ensure maximum IHG Rewards Club enrolments are achieved.
  • Hotel experience is preferable
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure and have strong organisational skills
  • Have an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Must be flexible and able to work different shift patterns each week. Shifts begin at 7am, 3pm and 11pm

Duty Manager

The 4 star AA Accredited Holiday Inn London Gatwick Worth near Crawley currently has a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our Front Office department as a Duty Manager, where you will oversee the efficient and effective operation of the hotel whilst liaising with Senior Managers, Heads of Departments and staff to maintain IHG brand standards.

Duties & Requirements:

  • Ensuring that reception operations run smoothly and effectively according to the IHG Brand Standards in a daily basis.
  • Support all Operational Departments in all areas of service to ensure proper delivery of all guests’ requests.
  • To give and ensure consistent, prompt, hospitable treatment of all guests and encourage personal attention.
  • Represent Management in all guest related issues in the best possible way.
  • To liaise with guests and to be able to deal with any enquiries or complaints. Complaints are to be dealt with courteously and efficiently and to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • To have full knowledge of Fire and Safety procedures and to be responsible for the evacuation of guests and staff from the hotel in the event of a fire or bomb alert, in accordance with the fire procedures laid down.

Night Manager

Duties & Requirements:

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a high standard of customer management, at all times
  • Fulfil all reasonable requests from guests, to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety
  • Ensure that the hotel is operated safely at all times
  • Undertake overnight responsibility for reception, checking guests in and out, taking reservations and dealing with all telephone enquiries
  • Supervise completion of night audit, and tasks of night receptionist
  • Assist when required with Food & beverage related enquiries during night time.
  • Act as representative for hotel management overnight
  • Maintain knowledge of all company promotions and hotel pricing to provide information to guests, on request
  • Be responsible for evacuation, in cases of emergency, acting as first point of contact for guests and the emergency services; be accountable for guests’ safety and comfort
    • Complete security checks at hourly intervals throughout the night
    • Complete duty manager’s log report and maintain accurate records of all fire safety checks carried out during the shift
    • Undertake additional administration duties, as requested by either the hotel manager or department manager
    • Adhere to company policy for reporting accidents and incidents
    • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training, attending courses and completing workbooks
    • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws
    • Be involved and contribute at team meetings
    • Carry out instructions given by the management team
